Overview

Cosmic Allegories is a grand tour of the soul that originates from the depths of the personal psyche, expands into the cosmos, and ultimately returns to Earth and its histories. Rather than a mere compilation of images, this photobook is a rigorous manifestation of the sequential progression of my existential perception and creative intent.

Spanning from the microscopic fluctuations of human emotion to grand, imaginative cosmic landscapes, the narrative descends upon the boundaries between the digital and the physical as a futuristic prophecy, before plunging into the depths of human existence and tracing back to the primal matrix of creation. It is a complete narrative that translates abstract philosophical discourse into a physical, tactile page-turning experience.

The Narrative Arc: From the Inner Cosmos to the Creative Matrix

The sequencing of the book rigorously follows the trajectory of this grand journey, guiding the viewer through an organic visual flow:

• Sensory Undertone The visual journey opens with the Prologue and Color Mood, emerging from human emotion to establish a sensory and psychological foundation.

• Interstellar Exploration The perspective then abruptly expands, projecting vast imaginations onto the interstellar landscapes of The 7th Universe.

• Terrestrial Prophecies Following this macro-cosmic wandering, the gaze returns to the terrestrial plane. Signalposes profound inquiries into the digital realm—interrogating it as an alternative manifestation of cosmic existence. Immediately following, The Last Landscape contemplates the interdependence and tension between humanity and the Earth, unfolding like a poetic, futuristic prophecy.

• Existential Inquiries As the prophecy settles, the inquiry shifts toward human existence itself. The Opposite Negative incorporates works such as Reverberations of the Soul, directly confronting spiritual transcendence and isolation. Meanwhile, Dark Matter utilizes a highly rational, coordinate-based "D.M." system to capture the hidden, subterranean currents of force that operate beneath the surface of things.

• Return to the Matrix Finally, the journey gravitates toward the origins of creative conception and lived experience. Moving from the gaze into mythic origins in The Transcription of Theogony, it transitions into Layered Island | The Life Context of Taiwan Architecture—the organic matrix that nurtures my entire creative worldview—before culminating in the historical metaphor of The Tower of Babel, completing a profound dialogue from the stars back to the earth.

The Book as a Physical Exhibition Space

In Cosmic Allegories, the photobook ceases to be a mere catalog of images; instead, it actively reclaims the physical conditions of "viewing". Within a refined format of 24.5 cm × 29 cm, the layout completely discards conventional editorial thinking, treating every single page as an actual exhibition space.

Through precisely calculated layouts and white space, the visual scale on the paper is infinitely stretched, allowing the spatial presence of a physical gallery to inhabit the pages. The distances between space, walls, light, and the artwork are entirely transformed into structural elements. They are no longer mere backgrounds but active participants in the site where the artwork takes place. Consequently, the physical boundaries of the book do not confine the grand scale of the imagery; rather, they precisely reconstruct the dimensions of the universe within the hands of the reader.
